How to pay NIMC fees with Remita

NIMC fees are paid through Remita, not cash at the office. Pay first, get your RRR, and bring the printout to the centre. Doing this from home avoids payment, network and power delays on the day.

  1. Step 1: Go to Remita

Open remita.net in your browser to start the payment.
  2. Step 2: Open ‘Pay Billers’

Find Bills & Purchases and choose the Pay a Biller (Pay Billers) option.
  3. Step 3: Fill in the payment details

    • Who do you want to pay: type National Identity Management Commission.
    • Name of Service / Purpose: choose the exact service you need (e.g. Modification, or Change of Date of Birth).
    • Amount to pay: this fills in automatically from the service you picked (e.g. ₦500 per field, or ₦15,000 for date of birth).
    • Payer’s name & phone: enter your full name and phone number.
    • Complete the “I’m not a robot” check.
  4. Step 4: Submit and note your RRR

Click Submit to continue. An invoice page appears with your RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) at the top. Print the invoice and save your RRR, you’ll bring this to the NIMC centre as proof of payment.
  5. Step 5: Pay with any method you like

Choose whatever is convenient and complete the payment (click Pay, Print Invoice or Continue as needed):
Debit / credit card
Bank branch
USSD
Internet banking
Wallet

Keep your RRR and the printed invoice safe. NIMC won’t start your modification until the payment has cleared, so pay a day or two ahead where you can. Confirm the exact service and amount before paying, fees are non-refundable.
